panOpticon has a new home

If you came here looking for panOpticon, you're in the right place. The catalogues raisonnés that scholars and editors created on the panOpticon platform have been transferred to the Foundation for Artist Catalogues, a nonprofit organization built specifically to preserve and sustain them in perpetuity. The Foundation hosts these catalogues through its platform, Artifact.

What happened to panOpticon?

panOpticon spent more than a decade establishing the gold standard for digital catalogue raisonné creation before winding down operations. Rather than let that work disappear, the people behind it took steps to ensure every catalogue found a permanent home.

The Foundation for Artist Catalogues

The Foundation for Artist Catalogues is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that born-digital catalogues raisonnés never go dark. We provide permanent stewardship, preservation, and public access, safeguarding these scholarly achievements for future generations.

The Artifact Platform

Artifact evolved from the innovations panOpticon pioneered through close collaboration with artists, estates, and scholars. Artifact represents the culmination of that experience, a best-in-class platform purpose-built for permanence, flexibility, and scholarly rigor.
