New: the Amedeo Modigliani Digital Catalogue

TOPICAL: Check out Workshop and Discussion: "The Modigliani Initiative," a free webinar by the Frick Collection, June 10, 2026 12-1pm. Details and registration here.

Congratulations to our friends at the Modigliani Initiative on their launch of The Amedeo Modigliani Digital Catalogue (AMDC). The digital catalogue is a freely accessible resource, launched on April 14.

Meet the Producers with CRSA April 21

Building upon the Italian scholar Ambrogio Ceroni’s widely accepted reference, this digital catalogue-in-progress features high-resolution images of the artworks and supplements the provenance, exhibition history, and literature references for each painting. The work includes biographies of the models and newly discovered technical details about the canvases where available.

As the Modigliani Initiative explains, this first phase of the catalogue presents paintings in public institutions in the United States that were published in Ceroni's catalogue. The Initiative is working on further installments, expanding not only to other geographical regions but also to include paintings that were not published in Ceroni’s catalogue, but that have confirmed references to the artist’s lifetime.
